Description

RARE, Special Order SMITH & WESSON 4” barrel s/s Model 639 in as NEW, perfect condition in its original cardboard box.

Rare, Special Order ( Spec. Ord.) S&W Model 639 double-action, 8-shot (8SH) with adjustable rear sights (AS), Rounded trigger guard and Stainless-steel SLIDE and FRAME in 9x19mm.

Early production models were manufactured with rounded-trigger-guard. Squared-trigger-guard on later production models.

The S&W 39 was the first generation American made double-action 9mm semi-auto handgun based on the German Walther P38 double-action 9mm pistol. Manufactured originally with a steel-slide and steel-frame until number 927 (1954-1966). At that point, the Model 39 became the Model 39-2 and was manufactured with an alloy frame until production ceased in 1983. It was followed by second generation models: the all-steel S&W 530, the alloyed frame S&W 439 and the stainless-steel S&W 639.

Suit collector.

Reason for sale: Thinning out collection.
